{"id":109,"date":"2010-07-23T02:00:46","date_gmt":"2010-07-23T08:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bus.tardis.cc\/?p=109"},"modified":"2010-07-23T02:19:40","modified_gmt":"2010-07-23T08:19:40","slug":"have-the-bus-in-hand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bus.tardis.cc\/?p=109","title":{"rendered":"Have the bus in hand."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I managed to get the bus home.\u00a0 Not so fun severely behind on sleep.\u00a0 Anyhoo, basically turned out well.\u00a0 The bus itself was indeed a 40&#8242;, 15 window bus.\u00a0 The MT643 transmission was freshly rebuilt in 2009.\u00a0 The engine is a mechanical DT466, 1997 manufacture.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve yet to properly take a look at the engine, but it does have some issues that made themselves known.\u00a0 Only had 133k miles on it, so I&#8217;m hoping it is an o-ring or headgasket that needs replacement rather than a rebuild kit to get it back up to 100%.\u00a0 Runs well enough to drive on for time being at least, though I have no intention of driving it until all&#8217;s well.\u00a0 We&#8217;ll see how it goes, worst case I&#8217;m looking at $1100 so not too bad.<\/p>\n<p>The bus itself is in EXCELLENT condition.\u00a0 So far not a bit of rust or damage to be found.\u00a0 The plywood floor has apparently suffered dry rot (or something), but the metal underneath it is pristine which is all that mattered to me.<\/p>\n<p>All in all, I am extremely satisfied with the purchase and I highly recommend you send <a href=\"mailto:lannyashcraft@aol.com\">Lanny Ashcraft<\/a> an email detailing the type of bus you&#8217;re looking for if you&#8217;re having trouble finding it.\u00a0 Or even if you&#8217;re just looking for a better price.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I managed to get the bus home.\u00a0 Not so fun severely behind on sleep.\u00a0 Anyhoo, basically turned out well.\u00a0 The bus itself was indeed a 40&#8242;, 15 window bus.\u00a0 The MT643 transmission was freshly rebuilt in 2009.\u00a0 The engine is a mechanical DT466, 1997 manufacture.
